TFE Hotels takes home ‘Learning & Development Award’

Accommodation Achiever Award is the latest milestone in TFE Hotel’s growth and development

18 August 2014: TFE Hotels’ was recognised as ‘Learning & Development Property of the Year (Chain or Group)’ at Accommodation Association of Australia’s prestigious awards ceremony in Sydney last week.

In its third year, The 2014 Accommodation Achiever Awards is a program which focuses on recognising the core asset of any hotel, its team members, and the programs that have been put in place to augment professional development. The event, attracted industry leaders, hoteliers and tourism boards from across the country.

Rachel Argaman, CEO of TFE Hotels, said: “This coveted industry accolade is a true testament to the quality of our people and the ongoing dedication and support of the team.

“At TFE Hotels we believe in developing team members from the beginning of their career through internships and graduate placements.  Our Future Leaders Academy currently has 31 participants on a fast track development path and an astounding 71 percent of our hotel managers achieved their role through internal promotion.

Companies don’t succeed, people do. At TFE Hotels we understand the power of coaching and mentoring. Success is about a whole team, not any one individual. The way to seed a successful culture is through the development and growth of our people.’’

As part of TFE Hotels’ ongoing support for team members, the Leadership Launchpad program supports leaders when they take a management transition in their career.  This learning occurs in virtual small teams across the globe and is part of our growth strategy to continually develop the skillset of our talent.

"The Accommodation Association is keen to promote best practice in terms of quality learning and development programs for employees in the accommodation industry. Professional development and training are key factors in driving service levels and overall industry productivity to its full potential," commented Richard Munro, CEO of Accommodation Association Australia.

TFE Hotels’ current portfolio of nearly 70 hotels and its joint venture with Far East Hospitality (announced late last year) positions the group as one of the largest hospitality chains in Australia.

Among TFE Hotels’ upcoming developments are Vibe Hotel Marysville, Hotel Kurrajong Canberra as well as two airport hotels in Mascot, Sydney, and a new Vibe Hotel Canberra Airport.

“As TFE Hotels’ expansion continues, ultimately our team is not building a business; we are building people who are building a business – We know that ‘companies don’t succeed, people do’ and this will always be our mantra at TFE Hotels,” Rachel says.
