If you need proof the autumn chill doesn’t put a dampener on Melbourne’s kid friendly offerings, check out this list of exciting events and activities happening over the school holidays!
Family Fun at Legoland
For a great day out with the family, visit Legoland Discovery Centre. The huge 2800 square metre space houses more than two million Lego bricks, some of which have been fashioned into Miniland Melbourne to replicate the city’s landmarks in perfect miniature form. There’s also a 4D cinema where you can revisit all your Lego favourites and a bunch of play zones where you can test your creative building skills.
Watch a Movie
Munch on some popcorn and let the screen do the talking! The Lego Movie 2 opened 21 March, just in time for the school holidays. Take the kids for a trip to the movies as the perfect holiday celebration!
Cast your line
The school holidays are an excellent time to take the family fishing as ‘ready-to-catch’ rainbow trout are stocked in the city’s lakes. With hundreds of waiting prey, the chances of success are high so pack your camera and ready your tummies for a delicious seafood feast.
Ghosts? What Ghosts? is a delightfully spooky after dark tour at the Old Melbourne Gaol where you’ll learn about the site’s dark history and unexplained happenings. Test your mettle as you hear spine-tingling tales and make your way through deserted buildings under the night sky.
Work together to escape
If your kids love a challenge, they'll love AdventureRooms in Melbourne's CBD. Put your heads together and figure out how to escape your tricky situation.
