AUSTRALIA: From the moment our lounge and hotel rooms became temporary gyms during isolation, the internet stepped up to provide creative fitness routines, yoga flows and dance challenges to counteract those Covid kilos. With all that inspo in mind, here are our top five ways to get a full-body workout at home or away!

When Calisthenics Call:

Bodyweight training is trendy, affordable and great for improving fitness. You simply combine your favourite movements like squats, lunges, planks, sit-ups, push-ups, star jumps, handstands and burpees. Then, for a full body workout, adjust the level of difficulty by mixing up the speed of the exercises, increasing the number of repetitions, increasing your range of motion, or increasing the percentage of bodyweight that you are lifting by using elevated surfaces to change the angle of the exercises.

Boxercise Your Way to Good Health:

Boxing not only gets your blood pumping but is known to improve balance, enhance hand-eye coordination, and strengthen the upper-body, core and other other muscle groups. If you’re working out in a confined space be sure to make a a few decor modifications to avoid any accidental breakages once you’re in the fitness zone. If you don’t have a boxing bag, try shadow boxing.  Basically you punch the air  while making small movements with your feet. It’s a great option for people with limited space looking to fit in a killer workout. 

Yoga is Always a Good Idea!

Many people use yoga as a way to refresh the mind and soul, but it is also an amazing way to stay in shape whilst also improving flexibility and toning up muscles you didn’t even know you have! If you haven’t already given it a try, you'll be surprised at the range of movements you can do from your humble yoga mat. And, once you’ve learned some of the technical terms like “downward facing dog”, “cobra pose” or “warrior pose”, you’ll be well on the way to becoming a true Yogi. 

Mind, Body and Soul:

While exercise can benefit mental health - thanks to the release of feel-good chemicals in the brain - introducing a nutritious diet and mindfulness practices, like meditation, into your fitness regime helps create a wholistic approach to health that your body will thank yo ufor.
