1. Alliance Francaise French Film Festival

Everyone’s favourite French Film Festival is back with an incredible line-up of 45 films, from the adventure filled The Odyssey to the light-hearted Bun In The Oven.

2. Hadron Collider: Step Inside the World’s Greatest Experiment

Discover the ins and outs of the world’s largest particle accelerator, learning about everything from its mind-boggling development to the incredible discoveries its making. Science buffs will think all their Christmases have come at once.

3. Sugar Spin: You, Me, Art and Everything

GOMA’s current exhibition allows visitors to explore over 250 contemporary artworks set to titillate the senses with their use of light, space and architecture. Possibly the biggest drawcard is Carsten Höller's giant slippery dip, Left/Right Slide. We’ll give you the hot tip: you won’t be taking the stairs.

4. Brisbane Comedy Festival

The eighth instalment of the festival is its biggest yet with over 66 comedians converging on Queensland’s capital. Enjoy the likes of Luke McGregor, Cal Wilson and Dave Hughes.

5. Eat Street Markets

Taking up residence in an old container wharf in the upmarket suburb of Hamilton, these markets offer everything necessary to keep visitors happy, from delicious plates to boutique beers, live music and more fairy lights than you can poke a stick at.

Every Friday and Saturday night from 4pm – 10pm.


6. CMC Rocks QLD

If you’re a country music fan, there’s no better place for you to be on the last weekend in March than Willowbank Raceway. This year’s festival features some of the biggest names in the business such as The Dixie Chicks, Little Big Town and – for the traditionalists – Lee Kernighan.

7. BrisAsia Festival

Now in its fifth year, BrisAsia is a celebration of the best bits of Asian culture. The varied programme offers something for everyone, including food tours, contemporary art displays, tai chi sessions and lantern making classes.

This festival celebrates all things contemporary dance, offering brilliant performances, dance classes, workshops and behind the scenes experiences.

February 18 – 25 at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts.


9. Pizzantica Pop-Up

The folks behind this delicious Italian venture know how annoying it can be to find your favourite food truck, so they’ve parked their Kombi on Edward Street in the CBD, turning it into a reliable venue for delicious doughy creations until the end of March.

10. Single Asian Female

The latest offering from award winning writer Michelle Law takes a humorous look at what it means to be an Asian woman living in Australia. Expect laugh-out-loud moments with a touch of poignancy.
