Rendezvous doubles down on RugbyWA partnership for third consecutive year

PERTH: Following record regional engagement - marked by new clubs, growing junior and senior participation, and investment in coach and referee development, including female-only coaching courses - Rendezvous Hotel Perth Scarborough has renewed its partnership with Rugby WA for the third consecutive year.

The announcement follows the release of the RugbyWA Social Impact Report last year, which highlighted how rugby delivers meaningful social, community, and economic benefits across Western Australia.

Built in partnership with the Rugby Foundation of Western Australia, the report details the scale of RugbyWA’s programs, the reach of its community initiatives, and the impact created through collaboration between clubs, partners, donors, and volunteers. It also underscored how philanthropic investment and strategic collaboration are expanding participation, strengthening inclusion, and shaping a sustainable future for the game.

From an ESG point of view, rugby’s contribution to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals - such as good health and wellbeing, gender equality, reducing inequalities, and building strong communities - reinforces its role as a powerful vehicle for social impact and aligns perfectly with TFE’s own ESG objectives.

According to Senior Director of Operations ANZ (and RGM for WA), Tish Nyar, Rendezvous’ continued sponsorship reflects the hotel’s commitment to local sport and community engagement, supporting rugby’s growth across all levels - from grassroots to international tournaments.

“In 2025, RugbyWA achieved 49% commercial growth, supported by the extraordinary loyalty and engagement of their community. In addition, 79% of RugbyWA members confirmed their commitment to supporting the partners who support them, so this is a good strategic investment for the hotel team.”

In 2026, Rendezvous, with its spectacular views to the Indian Ocean, will serve as Supporting Partner for the Women in Rugby Luncheon (July) and Naming Rights Partner for Rugby WA VIP Grand Final Day (August).

In speaking about the partnership, RugbyWA CEO Simon Taylor said he was delighted to again be working with the Rendezvous team in 2026.

“Rendezvous’ continued support of rugby in Western Australia reflects a strong shared commitment to our community and the growth of the game,” he said. “We look forward to working together again on key events in the Rugby calendar.”

“RugbyWA sincerely thanks the hotel team for their strong and ongoing support of rugby in Western Australia, including their valued support of the Challenge Cup in past two seasons.”

Rendezvous Perth Scarborough General Manager, Thiva Kesavan, added he was proud to continue the hotel’s partnership with RugbyWA, reinforcing the team’s commitment to community and athletic development across the state and TFE’s ESG charter.

“Rugby attracts thousands of players in WA, with growing interest in women’s rugby and sevens formats, alongside equity-focused initiatives like the RugbyWA Boots Project and Regional Club Subsidies Program, which reduce financial barriers and increase access for players statewide,” he said.

“And, on a personal level, I’m just excited to see another year of great rugby in WA.”

Ends.
