Travelodge Hurstville expands business offering with new conferencing centre

SYDNEY: Travelodge Hotel Hurstville has strengthened its appeal to Sydney’s growing southern business market with the launch of four purpose‑designed conferencing spaces, responding to increasing demand for flexible, well‑connected meeting and event spaces outside the CBD.

Located in the heart of Hurstville’s expanding commercial district, the new conferencing facilities position Travelodge Hurstville as a convenient, cost‑effective alternative for businesses seeking multiple small-scale meeting spaces with strong transport connectivity, ample parking, and immediate access to accommodation, dining, and retail.

Long recognised as the commercial hub of Sydney’s south, Hurstville sits just 16 kilometres from the Sydney CBD and offers excellent rail, road, and airport access. Hurstville Station is a major interchange on the Illawarra Line with frequent services to the city, while Sydney Airport is approximately seven kilometres away, making the precinct particularly appealing for interstate and international business travellers.

Travelodge’s four conferencing rooms cater to corporate meetings, workshops, training sessions, and small events, and are supported by a large multi-use break out area, fast connectivity, and modern flexible layouts. This is complemented by 124 Chada-designed hotel rooms, on‑site parking and direct access to dining, entertainment, and leisure facilities via the adjacent Club Central Hurstville.

According to Travelodge Hurstville General Manager Andrew O’Donovan, Hurstville’s appeal as a meetings destination continues to build as the precinct undergoes ongoing urban and commercial transformation.

“The area has seen strong investment in A‑grade office developments, improved public transport infrastructure and a rapidly expanding professional workforce servicing the St George and southern Sydney regions,” he said. “For event planners in particular, having a hotel directly connected to a fully equipped, multi‑venue club is a genuine point of difference. Alongside our dedicated event rooms and breakout spaces, corporate guests can also tap into Club Central’s Alt. Hospitality event offering when they need to accommodate larger groups.”

The addition of the new conferencing centre builds on TFE Hotels’ long‑term confidence in Hurstville as a growth market. When Travelodge Hurstville was originally developed as part of the Club Central Hurstville Precinct, it was positioned as a strategic response to the area’s rapid commercial expansion and a shortage of quality hotel infrastructure at the time.

TFE Hotels’ Regional General Manager NSW & ACT, Emma Soutter, said the expansion reflected changing demand patterns across Greater Sydney.

“We’re seeing strong demand for meeting and conferencing facilities in well‑connected metropolitan centres like Hurstville, where businesses can sidestep CBD congestion without compromising on accessibility or quality,” she said.

Soutter added that with continued infrastructure investment and a diverse commercial base, Hurstville was increasingly being recognised as a smart alternative meetings destination - with Travelodge Hurstville now better placed to support that demand.
